Spring is the time to clear out the cobwebs and remnants of winter.
To clean the slate and begin anew.
In this issue I’ll be writing about strategies to remain resilient to the ever present challenges of life, easy spring detox, Viome, Oura Ring, and reviewing “The Way of the Superior Man”.
Your Daily Guide to Resiliency
Sun/light exposure, deep breathing, ample purified/spring water, high quality organic food, cold showers, Host defense Mycommunity medicinal mushroom complex to boost immunity, B vitamins for improved stress response, exercise, fastidious hand washing, & adequate restful sleep. Incorporate these practices into daily life to improve your wellness.
How to Gently Detox
- Eat some bitter foods like dandelion greens, chard, green tea, & cacao. Bitter foods stimulate the liver to produce bile, which is an important part of optimal digestion. Bile emulsifies fats and renders fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and K more available. Research indicates bitter foods can moderate both hunger and blood sugar.
-Drink warm liquids like pasture raised bone broth
-Add raw local honey, ghee, and collagen powder to your herbal detox tea and blend on high for 45 seconds.
Viome
This test results in a clear account of the community living inside your guts known as the microbiome, by analyzing the RNA present in your poo. And based on that information recommendations are made on which foods to emphasize/avoid and what supplements will be most beneficial for you specifically.
Oura Ring
Think Fitbit in ring form, it accurately tracks your sleep cycles, activity level, resting heart rate, body temperature, respiratory rate, and heart rate variability. This quantified data will help you understand your body much more deeply.
Book Review
’The Way Of The Superior Man’ by David Deida.
This may be the most inspired writing I’ve ever encountered. It quite simply outlines how the polarities of masculine/feminine function in relationships, and how to harness them in order to fully engage the world with our unique gift & purpose. I highly recommend this for all people interested in creating the best versions of themselves, male or female.
Warning: people who are strongly triggered by the topic of gender may find this book offensive.
Conclusion
The message is equanimity for the dark and light within us at this moment.
Despite humanity’s current state of disease, spring is about new growth.
Pruning a tree in the spring will stunt its growth. Which is essentially what is happening to the world economy as we collectively stay home.
The result is likely less vigorous growth and fewer financial fruits to harvest. Though, I trust they will be sweet & bountiful enough for us all to share.
